Almost ready to give up looking for something inspiring on Netflix on a Saturday night, there came 2 Hearts. The story shows the life a young man was supposed to live and a grown-up man who was given another chance.
The film was underpromoted that night in late September when I watched it. I had to search for a little while to find it. It almost went unnoticed, but once I started watching, it captured my full attention, and later on, it provoked a few tears.
2 Hearts is for viewers who appreciate stories about life and human connection. And in this case, it was based on a true story.

I grew up in Mexico watching the Bacardi commercials on TV and occasionally seeing the grown-ups in my family and neighbors buying a bottle of the famous rum. When I realized that one of the main characters was portraying Jorge Bacardi as in “Ron Bacardi,” the famous Caribbean brand, it felt like I was watching the story of one of my childhood neighbors.
The story of the Christopher (the young man) and his family reminded me of many people I know in the United States. Parents who lovingly support their children and do what they can to raise them well.
I do not want to spoil the movie for you by providing more details on the story, but let me just say it is a beautiful story juxtaposing love and pain.
One of the leading actors is Adan Canto (The Following, Narcos, Designated Survivor) who plays Jorge Bacardi. He has the presence and voice of a true star, and I hope Hollywood recognizes it soon enough. Same for Jacob Elordi (The Kissing Booth), who plays Christopher Gregory —I can’t decide which one is the main character; both are stars.
Radha Mitchell (Leslie), Tahmoh Penikett (Father), Kari Matchett (mother) Tiera Skovbye (girlfriend). It is really a great cast, and they deliver believable characters.

I give it 5 stars. The best stories are the ones we live on every day and
2 Hearts is based on a true story. But the filmmakers have done a great job walking us through this life story. Despite some painful moments, it is sweet, it is romantic, it leaves you inspired. Go watch it!
The film can currently be seen on Netflix in the United States, and I hope there will be Spanish subtitles soon, and that it will be shown on Netflix elsewhere. It is a good movie!
