Home to hundreds of artists, San Francisco is reopening little by little to the relief of some and the concern of others. There seems to be both, a sense of reluctancy to let all guards off and a desire to remain protected against COVID19. Businesses and organizations still require facemasks inside their establishments and recommend social distancing, but it is great to see restaurants and other places lifting restrictions a little more each day.
Museums, galleries and other local artistic venues are following this direction, and we start seeing again signs on the streets indicating, the venue is open. And each place adapts to the current restrictions as they deem appropriate and mostly following what the authorities indicate to do.
On an impromptu visit with friends, I spoke to three artists who live and work in San Francisco. They reflected on the pandemic and how it affected them. More importantly, they all said there is relief having more people vaccinated and the possibility of reopening fully.
Please see below for a video showing their comments and their art. Enjoy!
