This year Thanksgiving Day is on November 26th. This date is also the birthday of Charles M. Schulz, the cartoonist who created the comic strip PEANUTS, publishing it from 1950 through February 2000. “Sparky,” as he was called, was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on November 26, 1922, and lived several decades in Santa Rosa, California where he also died in 2000.
I am sure many friends here remember Charly Brown, Lucy, Snoopy, and the other characters, their adventures, and the innocent truths expressed with simple words and phrases. I especially remember Snoopy and loved drawing him when I was a teenager!
The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center in Santa Rosa, California, where valuable pieces of his work are on display, is currently closed due to the pandemic, and it is expected to reopen when is safe. I can’t wait for it to reopen and visit!
Meanwhile, here is a beautiful video. Happy Thanksgiving!
