On November 23, 1883, Mexican painter Jose Clemente Orozco was born. Orozco, along with Diego Rivera and others contemporaries created what is known as Mexican Muralism; this was a post Mexican Revolution movement and it had political and social justice connotations.
There is a great mural by José Clemente Orozco at the Pomona College here in California, called “Prometheus,” completed in June in 1930. This mural became the first modern Fresco in the United States.
