You Can Find Anything in the Streets of Berkeley. A Mayan Mural, For One Thing.

file_001-2

(Public Art) – What a treat! Someone from the neighborhood not far from UC Berkeley has a mural outside their home based on prior work and the ideas of local muralist Ernesto Olmos. A native of Oaxaca but also an American citizen, Olmos is well known in Oakland and the San Francisco Bay Area for his murals  depicting Latino culture; he also is a musician and a dancer.

Berkeley resident Franci Kandl commissioned what they have called “The Sacred Alignments,”  telling the story of Creation according to the Mayans.

If you want me to tell you exactly where this mural is located, please join this blog and/or share this story, and send an email to editorial@Lupitanews.com
