Almost as telling and ludicrous as Donald Trump’s proposal to end the American principle of citizenship by birthright is his means to achieve it. He would not bother with a constitutional amendment to change the 14th Amendment, where the concept is firmly grounded. Too difficult, too messy, too time consuming.
