Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cézanne, and Beyond: Post-Impressionists Masterpieces from the Musée D’Orsay at the De Young in San Francisco

When I recently attended this exhibit at the De Young, highlights for me were John Singer Sargent’s La Carmencita, a very large painting (91 3/8 – 55 7/8.) Bonnard’s masterpieces really grabbed my attention, The Man and The Woman just to name one of them.

Renoir’s Dancing in the Country was so fun to look at and far more interesting in this exhibit than seeing it somewhere else. Similarly, seeing Van Gogh’s Imperial Crown Fritillaries in a Copper Vase and Starry Night was quite a marvelous experience.

I would really like to write about Pierre Bonnard’s intimate, intriguing masterpieces. Before I do that, it would be great to hear your experience at this special exhibit at the De Young Museum in San Francisco. Any takers?
