Lupita Franco Peimbert is a former television and newspaper reporter in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. She was a finalist for the John F Knight Fellowship at Stanford University and received a GLAAD media award for fairness in reporting. She has also worked extensively for governmental agencies, supporting communications, outreach, and strategic messaging. In 2019, she was nationally recognized as Innovator of the Year by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the State of California as Public Affairs Program of the Year for Crisis Communications during the Carr Fire. Lupita was born and raised in Mexico and has lived in Northern California for 25+ years. She is fluent in English and Spanish, and a beginner in French.
