A woman was walking her four children to school this morning. She had a bracelet on her left ankle, the type of bracelet that people facing deportation have to wear. I can imagine her worrying about a possible separation and how that may affect her children and their future.
But this woman was different, she did not hide her bracelet; short pants, she let it out in the open, knowing that all of us passers-by and walkers would notice it. Who wouldn’t? That thing is big –and scary for what it represents.
Yet, mom and kids were chatting, seemingly happy, determined to get to school.
