If organizations really want to hire a diverse workforce, they need to interview differently, conduct and evaluate panel interviews differently, and ask different questions. Recruiters and hiring managers must educate themselves about other cultures, accents, styles of communication, education vs general culture vs street smarts. What looks great on paper doesn’t make a great employee. Companies talk plenty about “Diversity,” but very few truly make it happen. Yet, diversity is a necessary condition for organizations to become great.
