In the United States, we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, every third Monday in January.
Dr. King was a civil rights leader who promoted nonviolent activism, and not only successfully protested racial discrimination in federal and state law, but he created change at a deeper level, in favor of just treatment to African Americans in a society that resisted equality.
The iconic, charismatic leader was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta GA and killed on April 4, 1968, but his legacy prevails.
