A group of hiking enthusiasts led by the California Native Plants Society wandered around one of the many trails in Trinity County seeking Autumn foliage, and they found it. The trails and creeks still attest to what in the 1840s was moved, literally and figuratively, by those seeking Gold.

The East Weaver Creek Trail, just a few miles east of Weaverville, this time of the year offers a palette of brown, orange and yellow, as the temperatures in early November start to lower thus helping the leaf turn into, well, Autumn colors.

Maple, Oak, Horse Tails and other trees and plants are letting the leaf off the branches, covering the ground and painting the area with somnolent tones. Somnolent yet crispy, making you feel cozy while getting ready for cold weather. Autumn is not just around the corner. It is here already. Palpable. Strong. Beautiful!
